We have gathered a few photos of the Andes mountain region of Venezuela here to whet your appetite for a visit to this marvelous area. A good jumping off point is the city of Merida where you can arrange treks or ride the cable car to the tops of the mountains. There are regular flights from Caracas. From anywhere in Merida you can see the 5000 mtrs. (16,600 ft.) Pico Bolivar. Be sure to bring some warm clothes as it can get quite cold in these high areas.
