The Caribbean waters around Margarita Island are perfect for sail boats. We are below the hurricane belt and are a perfect area to spend some time here. We are a duty free port and you can re-stock your supplies at costs much lower than other islands of the Caribbean. One of the major stores that cater specifically to the yachting crowd is Sigo La Proveeduria located on the outskirts of Porlamar.
There are marinas & mooring facilities in Pampatar and Porlamar. Margarita is a safe place to visit and the people who live here welcome visitors from all countries. You will have a relaxed and enjoyable visit. Our beaches are some of the most beautiful in the Caribbean. Playa El Agua, Playa Caribe, Playa Parguito & Punta Arenas are just a few that are worth a visit.
For those of you looking for a yacht or sailboat charter there are a number of companies that offer this service here on the Island however they tend to come & go with regularity. Best thing to do is a search on Google for either Margarita Island Yacht Charters or Isla Margarita Yacht Charters.
